New and New

Mon Jun 26, 2006, 8:06 AM

Welcome to Film Collective

New and New!

Hey folks,

We've got two new submissions, and we've got a new shoutboard feature. So, the reason for the journal: let's follow by example! Submit your best piece of work, see how it can be better. Submit your worst piece of work, see where you went wrong, how you can improve. This group is a place to learn and teach. Critique is the upmost important thing for growing as an artist and it's very fortunate that we have a place like this where we can do so.

Also, if anyone see's any film photographers that you think are worthy of a shoutboard feature don't be afraid to send us a note, or tell them about our collective.

Search

Browsing DAs photography section (and not arranging by favourites) can be a bit frustraiting at times, but there's a better way to find good photographers on this site: use the search! Try searching for keywords that a good photographer would put in his keyword searches. Search with paper types, film brands, darkroom techniques, cameras, and all that. I came across some amazing works yesterday by searching | "medium format" in:photography | SEARCH.

So give it a shot, just search something and add in:photography to the end and you're bound to find something impressive.

Staff wanted

Film Collective Staff Wanted

As most of you are aware, we have not really been that busy or active, we still get new members and occasionally a new submission. `zerocomplex and I do feel we need to boost this place up, perhaps with more staff. Each new staff member will be responsible of one of these tasks, 1. Members - to gain more members and maintain our member list, this person can change how the layout is done on our current member list. 2. Forum - this person will be control on how our forum is controlled and to insure the activity (this person will need to be knowledgeable of film and cameras). 3. Features - this person will be in charge of displaying features in our shot board. A feature based on a member of the Film Collective group. A bi-weekly feature is preferred. Once staff is added, a new fresh sub will be awarded to the club.

Update on current staff - `zerocomplex is taking some time off for personal reasons. We hope to see him back in action soon. *rakastajatar will continue to maintain the journals and submissions for now.

If you are seriously interested in becoming a FC staff, please sent all notes to *rakastajatar for further discussion.

Thank you!
