Film Submission Update

Sat Nov 12, 2005, 11:27 AM

Welcome to Film Collective

Contest section has new information & comment

It is great to see some submissions from different members, so happy people are coming here to get helpful comments!

As with all submissions, it would be great for everyone to help out eachother by commenting on the critique given by the artist. No matter what level of photographer you are, by answering questions by the artists you help to give a different perspective. Even if the question is something you don't really understand, a questions about film choice or exposure, you can help by giving your point of view towards each submission.

So with that I hope everyone can help out eachother when we submit new work here for critique. Just drop down in the description to the critique area, read what the artists wants critiqued, and have at it, you will never know how much you can help someone if you don't try.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, try to get out and shoot a little too!

What is Film Collective about?
Film Collective is a brand new DA group that emphasis the unlimited possibilities within the world of film photography. Here we will share film photography in all angles, technical changes, and point of view. Film Collective is always a great place to gather information from other members about film and the uses of cameras. Most importantly, Film Collective is not a showcase, it's a learning group. To learn with one another is a great way to see first hand experience of other photographer’s progress and achievements.

How do I join?
Send us a note, stating you wish to join Film Collective. Please put 'Join' in the subject line. Add us to your watch and we'll do the same to officalize you to the group.

What is the submission process?
Film Submission Guidelines:

To better help the artist receive a well thought out critique on his/her work, these guidelines will give the viewer a better understanding of what the artists was trying to achieve, what they want in a critique, and the technical data helping the viewer better understand the process. This could be a long process, but is paramount in helping both the artist and the viewer.

All submissions should be emailed to dAfilmcollective@gmail.com.

With the submission please include the following information, please note the more information you provide, the better we as a group can handle your critique and help you as a photographer. Please also included title of piece and what category

You can copy/paste this selection and provide the data available:

Username

Technical Data

(camera make/lens make)
(Film format/film used/filters used) You can choose to include developer here as well*
(Paper/Printing process used, if store processed leave blank)
(Lighting condition/time of day)
(Exposure data, if available)

Exposure Data

(here is where you explain the frame, what exactly you wanted, how you shot, what you shot, the more information you provide the better.)

Critique

(here you will let us know what you want critiqued about your frame, may it be a lighting question, a composition question, or anything that has to do with the frame itself, if you have printing problems, film questions, ask here, make sure it relates to this specific frame.)

And that is all the information needed to submit to FilmCollective.
